uk based producer and dj jules dickens (aka abstract source) teams up with soul singer and songwriter elliot chapman for a blissful slice of modern deep house entitled day to night. we first were tipped off to this future classic by our good friend russ gabriel, who graciously provides two powerful remixes here in his trademark analog minimalist style. to add additional quality to the release, we have asked large artist deep future to give his take on the song.

it seems like no part of the world has evaded discos ubiquitous inuence, including the caribbean. the caribbean in the late 70s and early 80s was a hotbed of musical activity and this compilation focuses on the best disco-inuenced tracks from trinidad and tobago, jamaica, and the bahamas. all of the tracks here were ocially licensed and reissued for the first time ever. highlights of the 13 tracks included on this compilation are: the under-the-radar cosmic disco tune -got to have you- by joanne wilson, a rare p&p records-inuenced track -dance with me- by odessey one, the icy cool synth-trenched -living on a string- by wild fire, the incredible dance oor-friendly -instant funk- by merchant, and the disco reggae cover of -rapper s delight- by prince blackman. this compilation was compiled and researched by deano sounds and includes edits by al kent, the whiskey barons, and waxist selecta.

traumer aka romain reynaud has been plugging away of late with a string of fresh material surfacing in 2014, much of which has seen the blossoming producer pick up support from the likes of mr.g, franck roger, and doc martin to name but a few. here we see romain join the roster of loco dices desolat imprint. across the double pack we see traumer skilfully explore a range of styles, opening cut hoodlum eases us in nicely with a bass-driven, funk-infused groove fuelled by jazzy melodies and gritty drum sounds.

with their cinematic music and john carpenters cover albums, we wondered when a real soundtrack by zombie zombie is going to be out? well, here it is now , the two zombies cosmic neman and etienne jaumet finally sign their first film music for the first feature film from director , narimane mari, loubia hamra (bloody beans), to be released in spring 2014. and we found them there, where we do not expect, because it s not a horror movie, but a free movie, a journey of a group of children from a district of algiers during the war of algeria, who becomes aware of life and death.director narimane mari talks about her experience with zombie zombie and creation of the soundtrack for her movie:-i really wanted the music to be as blood flow of images and that is what it is. sharp, dull, full of strange noises, inner or surging, harmonious or disturbed by noise disorder, which allows to read beyond the visual narrative. we are in the bowels of childhood and it shakes us up when we let our-selves be takeover by the living: the profusion. i didn’t want to make a movie where psychology and reason rule and dominate until our senses are weakened, but a movie that we experience with the body and it is them who made it possible, this total immersion.

of unsound mind is the new label from dj skream and is set to be an outlet for up and coming new producers hes feeling and thinks people need to know about-. first in the release schedule is brendan neal aka motions (a producer from canada but now residing in london) who has previously released records as one half of the production duo grown folk and also recently as motions on la label body high. here he delivers three solo tracks consisting of deep and melodic house, the a side ‘fading’ received heavy club testing by skream in ibiza at the end of last summer and was the catalyst for him to sign the 12inch. fielded and home is away from here follow in the same vane and complete the release from this up and coming talent who is sure to have a bright future

after the highly anticipated release of his third studio album decay, efdemin presents the first part of a remix series featuring his favourite producers. bristols underground hero asusu inflates the reduced album opener some kind of up and down yes with deepest bass and beautiful scapes to the max in a true photek-style. last years control by staffan linzatti was one of the favourite constants to be played in every efdemin or lawrence set. luckily his version of solaris is another epic hymn here with futuristic enhancements of the third kind.the most extraordinary piece on decay versions part 1 is the borderland states rework of parallaxis. efdemins studio-mate john gürtler recorded that beauty with adding acoustic instruments only and sounds like a meeting of moondog with wim mertens.

after some great response from 005 we seem to have a little groove on here and we are ready 006 with what might be my personal favorite ep so far, i find it very hard to choose a favorite here - i hope you do too!

its fairly safe to say that jay bliss is on fire at the moment. now he takes time out from his recently launched stomping grounds imprint to follow up on his 2013 appearance with och on the remix ep. here the warm, punchy 9 minute a-side creates a highly seductive floor-tension. flip the disc over for two modern takes on minimalism, possibly paying homage to studio one or basic channel with persistent rhythms, undertones of original dub, shaken and stirred with plenty off bliss magic.

after releases on john osbourne’s label tanstaafl bill youngman once again rips it off for killekill with our catalog number 019.from straight forward, hard hitting techno as in levitate he crosses over to the typical youngman style 2-step/techno hybrid as in magnetic. broken beats and playful me- oldies as in teardrop turns to solid are definitely not new to him, but the combi-nation of these two elements, as we find it here, definitely is. a beautiful masterpiece that works for the lonely hours as well as for the peaktime dancefloors.

the last few years have seen chicago footwork rise to international success, and traxmans debut album - *the mind of traxman* on planet mu - played no small part in that. it showcased cornelius fergusons brilliant ability to synthesise the beat digging of classic hip hop with the high-speed abstraction of footworks house-derived beat science. the selection of tracks on this second chapter show a slightly different take on traxman s abilities. instead of bringing in concepts from other genres, he simply creates a wider variety of footwork, made with a minimal, reduced palette. often just one or two samples are selected and diced into brain-blurring cubist puzzles that bear little relation to their original sources, or anything else for that matter.

for the last 20 years hes plied the dub-ways as beat pharmacy & echologist, & here hes in one of his trippiest modes to date. where there is smoke has been road tested in fred p sets for months.

keno trax sets the focus on simple and functional club tracks but without taking things too seriously. they don t use a lot of melodies here. all that matters is the beat. and there is plenty of that on the release from the two romanian producers and djs called gruuv elements

following the dazzling debut 12 inch, crumbs hit us with another stunner! although delivering a mysterious & scantily clad 12 inch is hardly a novel concept these days, it does concentrate the mind (and feet) on the music more than the brand. it is undercover time again, and we are sworn to secrecy, of course ... but three producers of considerable note contribute here.

a lush 90s vibe haunts this first offering by new parisian talent voiron, but not one of simple nostalgia - one of real class. the glittering layers, futuristic architecture and spaceship motions of opener -radôme- bear the true density of some early warp and reflex classic productions. one doesnt need to go any further to feel that the sleek skyline and mental landscapes voiron draws here might be the natural extension of those started by aphex twins selected ambient works or even 808 states hacienda dance cuts.

2nd reference for the parisian based label. no name dropping here, just another side project of the man d.k. the house groove is served with rough percussion and and odd beats programming. strictly for the freakz.

now ovo, the eagerly awaited new luca bacchetti ep, is here! with this work on his endless imprint, luca seems to be delineating a new soundscape, maintaining the psychedelia he introduced into his productions a few years ago, but now more synthetic and in some ways even minimalist. in ovo we can find a brace of dancefloor tracks, no gravity and the space between us, that maintain and harness luca s emotional and intricate atmospheres whilst also employing powerful sounds and elements that embrace the movement of the body. mature, emotional techno, where ethereal dream-like atmospheres find a singular expression and their own distinct identity. it is no coincidence that the whole ep was recorded entirely high up in the tosco emiliano apennines: a place where, for luca, nature is the element that most influences this new aural pathway. as he himself states: “it’s this contrast between isolated lands and the chaos of the big city that produces this state of being: a new dialogue. they are two worlds which overlap within my soul: when i’m in new york i think of these mountains and when i’m here i think of the bustle of tour life .. but it’s up here that i find the seed, in this case ovo.”
